Our style of core exercise and clinical Pilates methods are modified for each individual based on your assessment results. It is therefore an appropriate and safe way to strengthen your trunk and abdominals and stabilise your spine, from low back to neck. Our exercises reflect the latest research based approaches used by Australian physiotherapists, who are at the forefront of using science to prove why this method works.
The term “core” describes those found in your deep abdominal area, back, pelvis and pelvic floor. We help you become more aware of these incredibly important muscles. These muscles are not efficiently strengthened by crunches, sit-ups or fancy ab machines on infomercials – they need specific exercises with special technique to activate and strengthen them. This will lead to better support for your spine, likewise improving the mobility, control and performance of the rest of the body in the process.
What makes our group therapy sessions different to generic Pilates classes is that everyone is doing exercise programs specifically designed to suit them. Generic exercise programs only provide a mediocre outcome; an individually based program that focuses on your body’s issues will ensure the best possible outcome in both the short and long term.
